Last updated: 7 September 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Brightside Home & Garden Co website and our handyman and garden services. By using our site or booking our services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
1. Who we are

Our contact details are:
Email: info@brightsidehg.co.uk
Phone: 07471 964 246
2. Our services
We offer a range of home and garden services, including but not limited to:
-
General handyman repairs and maintenance
-
Home improvements and small projects and outdoor jobs
-
Garden maintenance
The exact scope of work for each job will be agreed with you in writing (for example, by email, message, or quote) before we start. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a job where it is unsafe, not feasible, or outside our area of expertise.
3. Quotes, bookings and payment
3.1 Quotes
Any quote we provide is based on the information you give us and is usually an estimate, not a fixed price, unless we clearly state otherwise.
If the job changes or we discover additional work is needed, we will let you know and may revise the quote.
3.2 Bookings
You can request a booking through our website, by phone, or by email. A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted it and given you a date and time.
We may ask for a deposit for certain jobs or materials.
3.3 Payment
Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the job. We accept the payment methods shown on our website or agreed with you in advance. If payment is late, we may charge interest or fees in line with applicable UK law.
4. Cancellations and rescheduling
4.1 Your cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible.
We may charge a cancellation fee if you cancel at short notice, especially where we have already purchased materials or turned down other work.
4.2 Our cancellations
We may need to cancel or reschedule due to illness, emergencies, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond our control. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as we can to arrange a new appointment.
We are not responsible for any costs you incur as a result of such cancellations, other than refunding any deposit you have paid for work not carried out.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
-
Provide accurate information about the job and your property.
-
Ensure we have safe and reasonable access to the work area.
-
Secure pets and valuables, and move fragile items where necessary.
-
Obtain any permissions or approvals needed from landlords, neighbours, or local authorities (unless we have agreed in writing to handle this).
If we cannot safely carry out the work due to conditions at the property, we may cancel or reschedule and may charge a call‑out or cancellation fee.
6. Materials, workmanship and guarantees
We aim to carry out all work with reasonable care and skill.
Where we supply materials, we will use suitable products for the job. If you supply your own materials, we are not responsible for their quality or suitability.
If you notice a problem with our work, please contact us as soon as possible with details and photos if you can. We will discuss a reasonable solution, which may include repair or re‑doing part of the work.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
7. Liability
We are not liable for any loss or damage that is not reasonably foreseeable when you book our services.
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of income, profit, or business opportunities.
We are not liable for issues caused by pre‑existing faults, structural problems, hidden defects, or misuse of the work after completion.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
8. Website use
When you use our website, you agree that you will not:
-
Use it for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
-
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or data.

Copy, modify, or distribute content from our site without permission.
We do not guarantee that our website will always be available or free from errors, viruses, or other harmful components.
